What is The Commons?

The Commons is a community nonprofit center located in Stevens Point, WI. It currently houses ten nonprofit organizations who collectively share space and resources. This communal approach allows them to reduce operating costs by leveraging shared services, creates economies of scale, promotes collaboration, and supports more effective operations.

At The Commons, we're bringing organizations together to strengthen their impacts, foster innovation, and grow their capacity to solve important challenges in communities throughout the state.

Our History

The 2801 Hoover Road Building served as the Delta Dental Corporate Headquarters until their expansion and move to a new building just across I-39 in 2020.

Mark Hilliker, former CEO of Inclusa, Inc. acted as one of the visionaries and forces for good behind the opportunity. When Mark and his team at Inclusa heard that Delta Dental was building a new facility, it seemed like the perfect timing to discuss a location where nonprofits could share space, collaborate, and support access to vital community-based services. Through the generosity of the leadership at Delta Dental and Inclusa, Inc., the idea for The Commons was born.

The Commons officially welcomed ten partner organizations in the Fall of 2022 and opened its doors and common spaces, including a conference room and large meeting room, The Atrium, for use by nonprofit groups.
